Reach the Peak Travel Tag - Puncak Jaya

Puncak Jaya is a mountain in Indonesia on the island of Papua. At a height of 4,884 meters (16,024 feet) Puncak Jaya is the tallest mountain peak in Oceania.

Reach the Peak Travel Tag - Elbrus

Mount Elbrus is the tallest mountain in Europe with a height of 5,642 meters (18,510 feet) above sea level. Mount Elbrus stands out from the other six mountains in Reach the Peak because it technically has two summits. The two peaks sit high atop the Caucasus Mountains in southern Russia, where the volcanic mountain attracts mountaineers from all over the world and also offers year-round skiing.

Reach the Peak Travel Tag - Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa with a height of 5,895 meters (19,340 feet). The mountain’s main peak, Uhuru, is on the rim of one of the mountain's three volcanic cones. The two shorter cones, Shira and Mawenzi, are extinct and have a more subdued physical appearance compared to the tallest cone, Kibo. Kibo reaches to the skies in a clear conical shape, with its rocky top streaked white with snow. Unlike Shira and Mawenzi, Kibo is dormant and not extinct.

Denali is the tallest mountain in North America with a height of 6,190 meters (20,308 feet) above sea level. The snowy slopes of Denali soar up to the skies, while the mountain’s peak peers down to the park and nature preserve on the ground below. Visitors from around the world make the trip to Alaska to climb the mountain’s icy heights and see breathtaking natural scenery. The mountain and surrounding park are also well known for the wildlife that call the area home. If a visitor is lucky, they might get to see a caribou, moose, or grizzly bear from a distance.

At a towering height of 6,960 meters (22,834 feet), Aconcagua takes the top spot in many lists. It is the tallest mountain in: Argentina, the Andes mountain range, South America, and the tallest outside of Asia. In addition to lists of mountains, the experience of summiting Aconcagua tops the bucket lists of mountaineers around the world.

Mount Everest, at 8,849 meters (29,031.7 feet) is Earth's highest mountain above sea level. Located in the Himalayan mountains of Asia, it is a crowning achievement in mountaineering. Since the first confirmed summit of the mountain by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953, adventurers around the world have traveled to the Himalayas to push themselves to the limit and hopefully catch a glimpse of the top of the world. Climbers who take on the challenge of climbing Everest must train and prepare long in advance in order to be ready for the mountain’s high altitude and unpredictable weather.
